WUFI® Fundamentals (1D) Online

An introduction to the science of coupled heat and moisture analysis. Learn what hygrothermal modelling and WUFI® software are capable of, become confident to request an analysis from a practitioner and understand modelling outputs.

Description

Hygrothermal modelling is the analysis of heat flow and moisture flow at the same time. It’s an incredibly useful technology for helping to predict the risk of moisture problems in building elements during the design phase.

There is a growing demand for hygrothermal analysis in Australia. Take this opportunity to start using WUFI® modelling for design assurance.

Course Details

  • Venue: Online
  • Length: 1 Day (8:30 am – 4:00 pm)
  • Cost: $610 (+GST)
WUFI® students will be given digital access to AIRAH's DA07 manual valued at $229* (*AIRAH non-member) FREE of charge for 12 months, via the AIRAH online portal.

  • Special Requirements: Setup instructions will be sent following registration. Two monitors or a laptop with an additional screen are required for this training. Please read through setup instructions carefully.
  • Software: A time-limited (6 week) non-commercial license for WUFI® Pro software will be provided.

If you’re interested in knowing what WUFI® is, when a model should be completed and how to interpret the analysis, then this 1-day course is for you.

Content

Introduction to the science of coupled heat and moisture analysis along with material properties. This one day course provides hands-on training for practitioners wanting to know how to carry out a hygrothermal analysis and how to effectively interpret the results.

By the end of the course the attendee will be able to:

  • Install and set up WUFI® Pro software
  • Navigate the software and understand the features
  • Set up a project
  • Access climate files
  • Understand the compatibility with weather synthesis programs
  • Use product material libraries
  • Define and edit basic vapour permeability properties for membranes
  • Run simulations
  • Understand the concepts behind initial conditions, moisture and heat sources and sinks
  • Model basic ideal systems
  • How to interpret and present simulation results

Special Requirements

Please download and review carefully, the system and set up requirements for this training.

We will schedule a one-on-one, 20-minute session prior to the training to ensure you have your system set up ready for the course.

Advanced level WUFI® training where you will learn how to set up and run a WUFI® 2D simulation of a building structure such as a wall-floor connection.

More Information

You will be provided with competency in one dimensional hygrothermal modelling of building elements such as walls, roofs and floors using WUFI® Pro. Participants will become able to set up and run a WUFI® 1D simulation of a building element. They will also become able to interpret and present the results of the simulation.
