Envelope Area Training (2D and 3D envelope calculations)

Learn how to use PDF and SketchUp for accurate building measurements to use in energy modelling and airtightness testing. Training to the level necessary for ATTMA Level 1 competency.

Description

Measuring building areas and volumes accurately and consistently is crucial for correct calculations of envelope permeability. The ATTMA envelope area training course teaches candidates how to carry out 2D take-offs and simple 3D models of buildings to ensure accurate envelope areas. The envelope area course uses well-known SketchUp and PDF programs, ensuring accurate, traceable envelope area calculations every time.

Course Outcomes:

  •  Building area and volume definitions
  •  ATTMA standards for measurement
  •  Performing simple take-offs using digital copies of building plans in PDF
  • Setting up drawings in SketchUp and using the software to perform calculations

  • Special Requirements: computer mouse with scroll-wheel
  • Prerequisite: installed PDF reader (e.g. Adobe Acrobat) and SketchUp  software
